  Portrait of a Lady on Fire is one of the best sapphic films I’ve ever seen. The pacing is brilliant, showing the desire between Marianne and Héloïse without words. The film's heartache and deep emotions are felt through the screen.
  One powerful moment is when Héloïse reads from Ovid's Metamorphoses to Sophie and Marianne, kind of mirroring her own story with Marianne of lovers separated by fate. As Marianne leaves and looks back at Héloïse, she knows it’s their last…
