I see why the theatre kids love this so much.
In a sense, I’m someone who is seeing this with a fresh set of eyes (other than the Wizard of Oz) but this film is so heartfelt and definitely hits home. A lot of people are anti-musicals however I am not. If a musical can convey a message through storytelling without it just simply being a song to sing for the characters I’m 110%…
The first act lead up to each moment so well.

Michael Keaton - this was actually kind of a different comedy style that I don’t see that often which was unique and done in a way that suits the character. (Random comparison but The Cat In The Hat has similar comedic style)
The ending was giving Matilda meets Fairy odd parents
