as a littlemermaidhead i can say: this remake did the classic songs reasonable justice, but the new ones were jarring. also jarring was the realistic looking creatures, which have nearly no facial expressions. like almost all live action remakes of animated movies, its clear that the creators have little understanding for the virtues of the original
