This film was not what I expected going into it, and I was pleasantly surprised. Amazing cinematography and visuals with an outstanding ensemble to go along with it. Malick focuses heavily on darkness and light in his analysis of war and nature. The moral quandary of a solider is a heavy burden. Malick does well to provide the perspective of both sides and the level of loss and isolation each soldier goes through. The combat in the film is alright…

A Different Man 2024
The overall story is very depressing but the performances by sebastian stan and adam pearson accompanied by the dark humor of the film makes this film enjoyable to watch. Although this is another film about someone’s descent into madness, the writing and screenplay makes it feel like a fresh new idea. The social commentary is there and obvious but it doesn’t come off as preachy. It’s a fun film to watch, but it’s odd enough where I'm not sure everyone would like it.
