A meandering film about small towns and boredom and the misadventures of an addict that doesn’t go much of anywhere but manages to remain optimistic despite the harsh realities and consequences of losing one’s way to drugs. Great cast and performances, worth watching for that alone.

Each frame of ‘In the Mood for Love’ is a work of art – the cinematography, color, set and costumes are gorgeous and awe inspiring. This film illustrates the rich nuances of love and betrayal, and so elegantly tows the line between temptation and restraint. It reminds us of the ephemeral nature of relationships and the capacity for intimacy and connection to transcend physical boundaries. This is a film I could watch over and over and undoubtedly always feel delighted in the discovery of something deeper in its meaning.
