Pacific Rim: Uprising 2018
I loved the first film & remember being so against a sequel that Guillermo Del Toro isn’t involved with. I didn’t like the trailers at the time & almost completely forgot about this movie. Finally gave it a shot out of curiosity & uhhh it’s not that bad? It’s also a completely different movie than I expected it to be, based on trailers. Has a rough first act, but opens up after. Definitely will watch it again.

First & foremost, this is a capital C comedy. Everything from the editing to the score & performances punctuate that fact constantly. Filled with the most hilarious & NASTIEST deaths I’ve ever seen. An improvement on the short story in every possible way.

The Wild Robot 2024
A very cute movie with some really beautiful animation. Good voice performance from Lupita Nyong’o. I was surprised by how quickly the movie addresses death in the wilderness, even played for a joke. Did not expect to see a crow get his head ripped off 5 minutes in, followed by (really funny) joke about the violent death of a baby possum.
