Other than that, no soul or gravitas whatsoever and when the film doesn't even care enough about it's story to linger on what should be big, melodramatic, emotional moments like a character death, we can't even get invested in what little we're given. Nonsense of the highest order and as a great man once said....

A hallucinatory cerebral trip that had my brother and I slightly delirious towards the end occasionally chuckling with disbelief at what we were watching when the oppressive, menacing dread that permeates through the majority of the film finally gave way to the violence and madness of the polarising climax.
To anyone who suggests this is the definition of style over substance I, won't defend it because kentuckycunctator's "Subtextual Analysis" would only blow my ideas out of the water. I'd suggest you give both a watch!

They actually "Let Them Fight"; for the first time in these movies that there's actually been an uninterrupted action sequence showcasing the titular monsters clobbering each other so I have to give credit where credit is due.
