I feel so relieved to have finally watched this film. This is my very first Stanley Kubrick film, and it's truly exceptional. The cinematography is fantastic, it's hard to believe this film was made in 1968.
The film itself, i believe, represents Darwin's theory of evolution—the survival of the fittest through natural selection—and the desire to understand the unknown is clearly and strikingly evident.
