  Jaws 1975

  I’ve seen this so many times but finally got to see it in the theater this weekend. The first scene with Chrissy’s death still panics me a bit and the dolly zoom of Brody sitting up on the beach is still spot on. That we don’t see the whole shark until the end is a testament to filmmaking that preys on our imagination. And the two-note music that signals the shark is beyond classic. Didn’t do a lot of good for how we see sharks, but damn, what a movie. Side note: is it just me or does Scheider look a bit like a shark himself?
