Very enjoyable. Not a lot here that Fincher hasn’t already done, and arguably better, but I don’t think that’s something that should be held against The Killer. A couple holes here and there, sure, but it offers some of his tightest sequences yet. This one section taking place in Florida is just so nerve-wracking. The opening in France is incredible- its color palette, Fassbender’s performance, Rear Window-type visuals, all the Smiths needle drops (which is unironically hilarious and appreciated and Fuck Morrissey). But yes, The Killer is good and Fincher’s best since those Mindhunter episodes that he should have done more of.
