much better than the first part, very slow in the first half but picks up in the second half. i really liked a lot of this movie, the fight scenes were good, especially the one near the end, which was really fun and exciting. acting was good all around and the general cinematography was cool. all i can say is the scenes on arrakis are way more boring than the ones on other planets/ships, deserts can be cool (see lawrence of arabia) but not when everything's just fucking orange.

Lawrence of Arabia 1962
first off, this movie is visually striking. the cinematography, color, mise en scene, insert more pretentious bullshit here, are all beautiful.
narrative wise, i found t.e. lawrence's personal development and character portrayal fascinating, especially the dichotomy between his vulnerability/frailty and dynamic charisma. i think the story benefits a lot from being based on true events.

pretty good, it's an interesting take on the info gathering that led to bin laden getting taken out. i think it's too narrowly focused though, and all the buildup with the MC's obsessive work ethic and determination doesn't pay off completely when her job is finished. i know that is a certain tone the movie may have hoped to achieve, and if so it did great at showing how empty the victory ended up being.
