Is Robert Eggers an AI machine cause this work does seem a product of it. There’s no soul or idea in his writing or directing, as cool and appealing yet tasteless as a black sesame sundae made by McDonalds could be.

This baby steals the show! I’m so happy to watch a movie where even a baby is portrayed with so much thought. Once again, I come out of the theatre hypnotised by how Sean Baker sees his characters and their worlds.

Another thought to share: when writing a screenplay you have to think about the conflict between what the protagonist wants and what the protagonist needs. This movie shows you that the truth (something these characters want) has little to do with the reality that each character needs in order to build something for themselves, and in this case it’s a very moving one.
