  i think the moral conclusion of the film was meant not to be afraid of aging and end up using stuff like ‘the substance’ to stop it. but the film dives into the horror of aging and the allure of eternal youth, so for me it seems to contradict itself by showing aging as grotesque ultimately muddling its own message. this contradiction is reminiscent of the dissonance in other body horror films that wrestle with identity, control, and physical transformation…

  LOVED IT. i sense it as a darkly comedic and visually striking film. Lanthimos' direction is masterful, i think he creates an unique atmosphere that blends opulence with an underlying sense of decay. LOVED olivia colman as queen anne, i think she captures the complexity of her character with a mix of vulnerability, petulance, and manipulation. loved its dark humor and unconventional storytelling <3
