Watched this due to it being mentioned in Quentin Tarantino’s book ‘Cinema Speculation’. I had to check it out.
When it began I thought “damn this sure seems cheesy” until about halfway in I felt myself entirely gripped by what was happening on screen. A man who grew to love his own torture in Vietnam, seeking it out on his arrival home, tortured by home invaders. (There’s probably some metaphor for the Vietnam War in there) Now seeking revenge for the loss of his family and armed with a new hook for a hand. It was Top Tier B Movie magic.
