To celebrate successfully defending my thesis, I decided to give this a rewatch.
It is still one of the worst book-to-movie adaptations I’ve ever seen, but I can’t help love it for how awful it is. Truly one of the most bizarre movies of all time. Hardly resembles the book. My first watch upset me so bad. This watch, I just tee-heed through the Camp.

The straight couples getting the weddings and the gay couple getting the funeral is actually, more broadly, a great metaphor for the “kill your gays” trope in media in general.
