Simply extraordinary how a film without words can say so much. Set in an post-apocalyptic world devoid of humans (presumably extinct) and shaped by an ever-changing environment, "Flow" (2024) delivers a unique cinematic experience that doesn't feel unrealistic or too far away from our world. It’s a heartfelt tale of community, compassion, tenderness, and the strength of a chosen family. It's impossible not to fall in love with its characters. The animation style is equally remarkable, particularly its masterful use of lighting. Bravo!

This remake of "Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horrors" (1922) is a well crafted homage to its source material and to the gothic genre. Every so often, a film comes along that is so unique, smart, and impactful that it redefines our understanding of what cinema can achieve. That's the brilliance of Nickel Boys: Story and Form are necessarily intertwined.

Predictable, full of clichés and completely implausible. And yet... it's actually a fun watch. It's soooo bad it's actually good? Is that possible? Also, this film introduced me to the song "Canciones de amor a ti" by Rigoberta Bandini. That, on itself, deserves a full star.
