The Brutalist 2024
A lot of quirky flaws and its very difficult to watch especially post intermission. But its rewarding. I think the united states is engrained in its soil with a spirit and presence that rejects incoming cultures. It attempts to rape them, and assault them through coerced assimilation. Commodifying them. Its a perpetual cycle of humane genocide no matter where you come from and it takes place over generations, erasing histories. The movie tries to contrast a life of conformity in a fraudulent skin with a life of strife and torture as an individual pursuing purpose and true spiritual belonging.
