A masterclass in metaphor. Dense, profound, tragic. As the mystery unfolds, we also learn snippets of Jake’s character and his history without the movie ever revealing too much. What happened in Chinatown looms over the film as a feint reference, never the forefront, but it has everything to do with how Jake acts. “As little as possible.”
Incredible performance by Faye Dunaway. Once you get to know her character you can tell when she’s lying and when she’s telling the truth. One of my new favorite performances and it feels overlooked. Honestly, this is my new favorite movie. Can’t wait for the rewatch.

Pulls no punches and I think it’s better for it. See lots of criticism about how needlessly offensive it is, but that aspect is certainly close to reality when every character is a killer. Deliciously funny, raw, shocking, not incredibly profound but has its moments. I mean, the title is pulp fiction. Be entertained.

stop making multiverse movies. stop making time travel movies. nothing matters whatsoever. nobody gets the concept remotely right, it’s just an excuse to whatever comic book characters the writers want happen. such a shitty gimmick that has completely enveloped the super-hero movie scene. please stop. return to grounded storytelling
