This film shows shows how Elvis groomed Priscilla from age 14, how he caged her and turned her into the traditional, homemaking wife he wanted her to be. The story is based on Priscilla Presley’s self-written memoir. None of this perspective was stressed on the overrated Oscar-nominated film: Elvis.
I’m so glad Sofia Coppola directed this movie; she’s done such a delicate job on maneuvering a dual perspective and portraying layers of a codependent relationship.
