Open Your Eyes 1997
found out today that vanilla sky was a remake of this film and had to watch this immediately. the first time i watched vanilla sky (vs) it had me ruminating for months so i knew i would love this. amenábar’s abre los ojos is dark and haunting. the sensations of isolation and doom give it a much more pessimistic feel than the warm, american interpretation that is vs. the films are pretty much completely the same with a few tweaks…
