I can't exactly explain it, but I about fell out of my seat laughing just seeing Adam Driver speed up to a crime scene in a red convertible smart car, take a good look at a particularly gory crime scene, and just say, "Oh, yuck."
I love a good deadpan humor, and this movie excels at it. I haven't watched many (any?) zombie movies, so I'm sure I wasn't picking up on all the satire, but it didn't seem to…
It's not an earth shattering film by any means, but it was fun. Lots of fighting, plenty of explosions, quality CGI, which is sometimes everything I'm looking for. The special thanks in the credits to all the CEOs convicted for fraud and so on is the best joke in the movie and all too easy to miss. Jim Carrey is also funny.
I like a movie that knows what it is - and Dune knows. It's not a science fiction movie, even though it bears all the markings of science fiction. It's an epic, like the stories of old, and they filmed it like one.

It's a great movie.
