Upon a second viewing, La Chimera still stands as one of my favorite films. Alice Rohrwacher has composed a beautifully shot, surreal, and sincere journey through history, art, loss, and Italian shenanigans. There is, in all of her films, this incredibly rich way of storytelling rarely seen in modern cinema, and I won't be shutting up about it! Gah- just makes me wanna throw on the grubbiest linen suit and graverob some Etruscan artifacts.
