In a time filled with movies telling us that life is great and everything is going to be okay (don’t get me wrong, I like that message. Just saying), it was refreshing to see a movie that is so god damn bleak.

Barry Keoghan continues to remind us why he is one of the most interesting actors working right now. All his choices make Oliver even more unsettling, but what’s most off putting is the fact that I never stopped routing for him.

Don’t think this series is getting enough credit for being one of the most consistent franchises out there. The first two were ‘eh’, then every one after that built & expanded on its voice in a unique & challenging way.

‘Dead Reckoning: Part One’ gives you the option of appreciating it as a solo flick, or long for more. I choose the latter, but I appreciate that it gives you a choice. It still felt like a complete story.

Say what you will about Cruise, but the man loves to entertain. And boy does he.
