This movie could have just been laughably bad, but the frustration it generates goes beyond that. It disrespects the Spanish language, with a script that shows no effort to get it right. Despite the vast wealth of beautiful Spanish-language music, no one bothered to understand the language’s natural rhythm or how it works in songwriting. Worse, the film tackles serious issues like drug trafficking and missing people without any real knowledge or sensitivity, making its approach irresponsible.
