First of all, I would have appreciated if the translator sticked to the original title which is "The sea's Lid"/"Umi no Futa" instead of changing it to "There is no Lid on the Sea" which is almost the opposite of what the moviemakers intended it to be!!

A beautiful film. Yukino kishii's character's attitude will remind every girl of an abusive relationship she has been in. Giving and giving endlessly and uncontrobally because you are so desperately in love to the point of losing sight of all other important things like work and friends. sounds familiar? yeah!
Ryo Narita's character will make you wonder "what is it about this guy that makes this girl go around wrecking her life for?" the question is even voiced by another character (Sumire). Do NOT expect any straight forward answers.
