Gladiator II 2024
Sharks and rhinos in the coliseum because fuck the fact that this film tried to make a sequel out of objectively the magnum opus of the historical film genre and failed spectacularily to do so.
This film would be good in the only scenario that it's not named "Gladiator II".
Solid Denzel & Pedro tho, the return of some of the old cast is very welcome too, although they completely omitted Djimon Honsou and the importance of companionship (Ravi is underwhelming).. but this Maximus 2.0 and those comically ridiculous evil twins we got out here ain't it.
Unworthy.

All the possible Tunisian Flick tropes exist, but this movie feels too immersive in that to the point it becomes an embodiment of it, and thus it presents itself as a good movie, with a "good" sort of ambiguous ending...

I kept my expectations low, but surprisingly, this film, despite its incredibly simple plot, delivered.
This is my first real sit-down with a film Noir, and it was a pleasant experience, the feel is there, the dynamic between the characters was somewhat convincing yet bizarre, I still for the love of God cannot comprehend what made Nat deal with Gladden the way he did or the whole "kicking her out of the crew" thing.
