Have to say I liked it, despite the unnecessary jump scares. Simple plot, a trope or two, but still couldn’t predict the ending. A good Netflix & chill selection, but make sure you finish it at some point.

K-19: The Widowmaker 2002
Helmed by the first woman to ever win the Academy Award for Best Director, this was a strong ship. I was expecting your typical submarine action movie, but got so much more. Engaging story, compelling actors, authentic sets and effects. The horror is so real and unexpected, but the tone change is well executed. It's a necessary tale & I think this film is often overlooked.

What a unique concept with skillful follow-through. Wonderful actors who embraced their characters & seemed to love their roles- I came away loving these actors more than I thought I could. Continues & indulges the tradition of Sam Rockwell getting footloose in all his films. So many twists I didn’t see coming, and I really enjoyed the thematic elements of the books component. The pacing suffered at times and there were slow moments, but I was always engaged. There were definitely several times I emoted in my seat, both physically and verbally. See it in the theater. You can’t hate cats after this.
