The Irishman 2019
Martin Scorsese returns to the theme of organised crime with his longtime collaborators Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Joe Pesci. It is unnerving to see Pesci as the softly spoken calm member of the cast, the position taken up by the ever imposing Stephen Graham. A decent story and it’s Scorsese from start to finish, but it pales in comparison to Casino, Goodfellas or even The Departed. And that said 1992’s Hoffa already told this story.
