  a very unique concept based on a swedish folktale, but it certainly could’ve been further fulfilled. the editing is chilling, and the deep exploration of life is interesting. while the slow burn may be by design, it doesn’t work for me. decent film, certainly a huge influence, but not perfect by any means.

  talk about an under-appreciated masterpiece. a short, but tragic film featuring grief and mourning, a silent film has never came close to making me feel this way before. the power and emotion that victor achieved here is astounding, partly due to the score but also the overall gloomy storyline. it’s easy to overlook a film like this, but it shouldn’t be left unnoticed by anyone.
