Fun, raunchy, and full of commentary! Loved the mockumentary style and how it doesn't take itself too seriously.
That said, the editing was a bit wonky. Despite that, the camerawork truly felt indie and it was quite brave to see a full-on lesbian intimate scene. I wish Hollywood explored more black lesbian stories!
Stressful court scenes. The unnerving question of whether or not she did it. Amazing performances. Grounded camerawork... and the GOODEST ACTOR EVER!!!!
I also liked how the film gives us an overview of a complicated relationship, one where both sides aren't truly in the right and have hit a certain point in their lives where it comes harder to compromise. This is especially worsened by Daniel's accident.

The zombie genre can be a tired and overused medium. But these films can be terrifying with the right story, and it needs to be used as commentary.
"Outside" uses the apocalypse as a catalyst for already existing horrors that lie deep within the dynamics of the Filipino family. The toxic traits displayed here are wonderfully executed by the cast, and it plays on the ideas of the family man doing "everything" to keep his wife and kids safe.
