I was quite nervous dragging my mother into this one, after having seen Southland Tales; A film I could appreciate, ignoring it's sometimes amateur production quality.
The Box is a massive improvement in terms of production quality. The visual effects are jaw dropping (get it?) for a film from 2009.
The sets are also beautiful and quite ambitious, and paired with not overly impressive, but solid cinematography it makes it a very pretty film.
