Not what I expected based on the description. Some of the acting was a bit stiff, but it somehow added to the appeal rather than took away. Felt like a modern feminist take on relationships.

The Wind Rises 2013
I appreciated the focus on Jiro’s perspective during a time of turmoil, while leaving the reality of the war at arms length. However, the movie never lets you forget that to achieve his dreams, Jiro is complicit in creating war machines. Even passionate, well intentioned individuals create infamous technologies in order to pursue their dreams.
