Very much enjoyed this. It's an exercise in genre bait and switch, with a performance by Rooney Mara that brings to mind Edward Norton's role in Primal Fear. I love Soderbergh. He's easily my favorite director of the past 20 years, and this film was a good one for him to go out on — even if I suspect he will be back.

Watched this in advance of a lecture I was giving on sound to a class on writing for radio. The commentary track is excellent. There isn't a lot about sound in there, but Fincher has a few key moments when he talks about working with Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, and when he talks about the reworking of Led Zeppelin for the theme song.

Haunting documentary about the Amish youth who at 16 leave their homes to test their faith. Watched for research on Aphex Twin, whose music is used in the film.

Watched this for the umpteenth time. I use it in a course I teach on sound in the media landscape. It provides excellent talking points for discussion of the use of sound in product design.
