The first truly must-watch thing to come out this year. It's not investigative nor a mystery, what really makes this work is the way it navigates a very real societal & cultural error with the straightforwardness it needs in order to be properly interrogated. Extremely reminiscent of older Dhanush, but intentionally so. Like a flip on the idea of VIP where instead of following a character going through unfortunate but relatable mishaps, we watch an insufferable prick whose circumstances are of his own doing (Raghuvaran….Raghavan….). I think the decision to go all-in on the character in this way is interesting in this genre space where people look for relatability & likability. It takes big swings in subverting the typical concept of these college coming of age…
