It's hard to top the first one, but somehow they've done it. I wasn't a huge fan of the multiverse completely overwhelming the entire story because a lot of the charm about Spiderman is how down to earth his character is in general. In short, this movie doesn't take itself seriously. It feels like a direct to dvd spinoff film where the stakes are nonexistent and we just make jokes for 3 year olds to laugh at pandas.
Somehow this movie feels too rushed because nothing is developed, but on the other hand feels too drawn out all the screentime given to the fluff events happening at the panda village. There is virtually no development of Kai - we're told who he is…
