  This was incredible. Beautiful to look at, extremely witty dialogue, and in certain scenes a beautifully surreal sense of unease. Highly watchable and entertaining on multiple fronts. Might be my favourite Hitchcock so far.

  This is quite tough to review. I loved a lot of things about this film, but there was quite a few I didn't love too. So I listed them!

  Pros:
  - Peak set design and cinematography. I am a slut for steampunk and this pulled it off so well. Extremely visually pleasing.
  - Great acting all around. Emma Stone and Willem Dafoe were great as usual, but Mark Ruffalo surprised me with how outstanding he was.

  I really enjoyed this one, more than I was expecting given my disappointment with Fennell's last film. It definitely gloats a little bit here and there, some dialogue is quite vapid, but overall I think the story was interesting, the cast was brilliant, the shots were beautiful and maybe I'm biased because I viewed this in a packed cinema but some scenes were genuinely very funny.
