  I’m gay and it’s a musical, you do the math. Russell Crow was not as bad in this as most people say though it’s hard not to look bad when you’re singing in the same scene as broadway actors and all your singing experience is from your passion project rock band.

  I think I’ve seen this film at least 45 times. When I was a kid I watched it nonstop. I watched it again after about a decade and a half while absolutely blasted out of my mind. I cried.

  It’s a truly spectacular film. The only dark mark is that in the book the Hms Suprise is fighting a ship of the United States Navy and not the French. This was changed by the studio for fear that American audiences wouldn’t relate to the story. Truly what post 9/11 hyper nationalism does to a mf.
