Maybe I’m just misinformed, but I was under the impression that any star wars film directed by George Lucas was good, and anything else sucked… But this film is literally better than half of its predecessors.

There are 2 main standouts of this film for me; the first of which being the cinematography. I think Star Wars really benefits from this modernized production style, really bringing all of its sci-fi elements to life in a stunningly complex visual array. The…

I’m dumbfounded at how they managed to pull off such a miraculous comeback and save the entire trilogy with this ultimate film.

I feel as though Anakin really settles into his character here, abandoning the troubled, yet prophesied hero was meant to be, and embracing the inevitable, irredeemable villain of Darth Vader. Unfortunately, this is handedly the most disappointing film in the Star Wars franchise thus far. It’s the first film where it feels as though the storyline drags on and has no real payoff. Additionally, I cannot stand Anakin's character in this; he comes off as irritating and perverted. The only redeeming quality for this film is it’s iconic and quotable nature.

While still a decent film, I feel it’s largely saved by its namesake. The storyline feels a tad bland, and some of the scenes with young Anakin feel flat out dumb and silly. That being said, it still has its fair share of enjoyable moments, and I love how it “foreshadows” what’s to come in later films
