I feel as though Anakin really settles into his character here, abandoning the troubled, yet prophesied hero was meant to be, and embracing the inevitable, irredeemable villain of Darth Vader. This film contains arguably the best action scenes in any Star Wars film — I mean how can it get any better than that Anakin and Obi Wan…
Unfortunately, this is handedly the most disappointing film in the Star Wars franchise thus far. It’s the first film where it feels as though the storyline drags on and has no real payoff. Additionally, I cannot stand Anakin's character in this; he comes off as irritating and perverted. The only redeeming quality for this film is it’s iconic and quotable nature.
While still a decent film, I feel it’s largely saved by its namesake. The storyline feels a tad bland, and some of the scenes with young Anakin feel flat out dumb and silly. That being said, it still has its fair share of enjoyable moments, and I love how it “foreshadows” what’s to come in later films
