I'm Still Here 2024
just left the theater and feeling genuinely beyond moved by this film 💔 I have so many thoughts but primarily I’m struck by Salles’ ability to convey two important messages —
1) how experiencing life, music, nature, love, etc visibly while being forced to live under oppression is an important act of resistance
2) how documenting proof of love, life, and existence under a tyrannical regime (by preserving tapes, letters, newspaper articles, testimonies, cameras etc) is an important act of resistance
