Beautifully shot movie, great acting, very frustrating ending. I don’t think the reveal that Benitez is intersex was very interesting, the movie doesn’t engage with the repercussions of an intersex pope, it just ends. The suspense and intrigue between the cardinals takes up 80% of the movie and feels like a waste after Benitez inexplicably wins over the votes of all the conservatives bc he did a good speech. Woulda been way more interesting if the cardinals found out Benitez…
