Crimson Peak 2015
it was a little predictable, but i didn’t dislike it. spooky, grotesque, and beautiful. the ghosts were so silly thou, they reminded me of the ghost children in the haunting remake from the 90s.

Tipping the Velvet 2002
the editing is silly and it’s definitely a 2002 interpretation of the late victorian era in london but i think it’s also a really good representation of what it feels like to discover and accept who you are (particularly as a lesbian but also as a queer person in general). there’s so much joy and heartbreak and chaos and gay yearning and betrayal and a bit of socialism and benedict cumberbatch as well!
