There were so many funny lines that I tried to make an effort to remember at least one for the very purposes of this Letterboxd review, but I guess that’s a testament to the unadulterated hilarity of this film that there were so many I ended up with none! Without a doubt, the funniest torture scene any movie has ever had. The mix of over the top gore serves this clever script perfectly. What it leads to is a combination that just made my heart happy. One of my favorite movie viewing experiences I’ve had in a long time!

Robert Pattinson is a wonder. Could truly watch him in anything and I’m glad this vessel really allowed him to showcase his acting portraying two completely different characters. The score was beautiful and compelling and I couldn’t get enough of it! It was really cool to see Bong Joon Ho absolutely excel in his first English script and selfishly I would love more films like this out of him if he is able to deliver the same level of commentary and clever screenplay in my native language. Though ofc I will always read those subtitles if necessary! 🙏🏼

Well, this was just an unexpectedly beautiful film. There were so many serene moments captivatingly led by Lupita Nyong’o and Joseph Quinn. Both acted their absolute asses off. The scene in the jazz bar with his lil magic trick?! I mean, come on! Such an empowering ending. In a film that easily could’ve been trite and unnecessary, this has easily taken its place as my favorite of the series (especially cause it doesn’t have that deaf girl). Beautifully shot, scored, and storied.
