  Did people like this? I mean, cool vibe, Hugh Grant is fun settling into late-career groove as a goofball. But that plot: really? I guess I’d be more interested in a movie about how this guy built his murder house and who maintains the needlessly intricate door locks.

  Starts as espionage action and ends as horror action, with a middle act meet-cute that lasts waaaay too long. The coda is so corny. This might be a really good bad movie. But if you just think it’s plain bad I won’t argue too hard.

  The latest entry in the Robert Eggers Old Timey Miserable Cinematic Universe is all that and a bag of chips. You get sucked into a world of plagues, iffy real estate deals and poor lighting, and it all works. You’d have to be a real Scrooge to not like this Christmas movie!

  It should be noted that vampires are gross and their wrinkly schlongs look like turkey jerky. If you’re looking for sexy vampires, maybe try the Blade franchise.
