monica bellucci is beautiful and an icon. thats about the only good part of the movie, next to the setting and it being filmed beautifully. rest of the movie was gross and misogynistic, which is what it was probably meant to be, because im sure that somewhere in there, there is a nice story of a boy coming of age but to me it was almost overshadowed. it paints a realistic and dreadful picture of the way women are treated…

absolutely devastating watch.
the aspect ratio added to that, leaving me feeling claustrophobic and uneasy. it mirrors the reclusive and tragic life charlie is leading, whithering away in his apartment in search of some form of redemption. there is much more i want to say but i dont know how. the way he behaves serves as a great reminder to just be honest, and i think thats important.
