Apocalypse Now 1979
When Francis Ford Coppola directed this movie I imagine he said: “sure I want folks to watch this in a movie theatre, you can’t beat the immersion of a big screen. But really, the ultimate way to consume this picture is by periodically changing over to ITV at your father’s insistence to see how that bus driver is getting on in who wants to be a millionaire… pure cinema”
(he won £250,000)

All the plaudits going to Pattinson, and perhaps rightly so, but Tim Key dressed as a pigeon is the real MVP in this film.
I’ve twice drunkenly accosted Tim Key in pubs in London, on one of those occasions we talked about cricket and all was right in the world for just a few minutes. Good for Mr Key. Not my favourite Bong film but who cares what I think.

How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies 2024
nice big cry after work with six of Hereford’s brightest and best residents, the usher looked like she was really having a good think about mortality as we left and who can blame her after watching that, a bit saccharine but who cares, it’ll take a colder man than me to call this sentimental guff

Average film infinitely improved by watching it sat behind an incredulous older woman from Hereford who commentated throughout the movie. Imagine a silver haired woman declaring Harris Dickinson is a ‘bloody dirty PIG’ in a broad West Country accent if you ever feel the need to watch this and it’ll improve your viewing experience immeasurably.
