Marianne Jean-Baptiste gave a blisteringly powerful performance in this 90 minute drama. She tore through this story and made you feel something at every turn while portraying this relentlessly unsettling character. Michele Austin’s performance as her sister was the perfect counterbalance to her madness - reminded me of Regina King in Beale Street for some reason. You could feel the care and warmth beneath her skin with every movement.
