Where the Crawdads Sing 2022
well to start, good for her, love her, she’s awesome and great and i get her and i see her and i see pieces of me in her. i’m happy for her BUT love is far too central to this story and i think it takes away from the potential complexity of the storyline. sure it contributed some but it honestly watered down the level of personal growth and grit that she had to muster up to survive at all in her world

didn’t want to watch this bc joey king stars in it but watched it anyway bc i wanted to see how they could possibly adapt this series to work in movie form and it turns out it can’t be adapted to film! ❤️ the way the books were written made me cringe bc of the slang but somehow this is even harder to sit through
