The criticisms are ALL real and valid. I agree with them (ex. French director: no; non-Mexican actresses (excluding one): no). Nevertheless, the movie is not the piece of trash that everyone is making it out to be.

Close to being a masterful film. The dark vibes and cinematography were on point, the score was gripping…But the cookie cutter ending was a disappointment/the last line was embarrassing. I drove home perplexed. It seemed as if the screenwriter had to rush to meet a deadline. A movie that was so so so good for most of the run deserved a better conclusion than that.
Adrian Brody was spectacular, but Felicity Jones stole the show. Scene stealer all the way.…
