  Written by andrew niccol who also wrote and directed Gattaca (interesting premise, bad movie) a year before. Truman show is an example of what an extremely talented, seasoned director (Peter Weir) can do with a good premise.

  I can’t imagine what this movie would be like if Niccol directed it himself. However, I would assume that, like Gattaca, it would be pretty forgetful. But in Weir’s hands it is perfectly executed from top to bottom and so beautifully constructed. He…

  I really don’t know how to explain on a social media app the profound impact this film has had on me but this has absolutely wrecked me. Some of the most subtle and truthful storytelling I’ve ever seen. Entirely overwhelming while never pushing for an emotional result from the audience. Every frame is carefully constructed, not a wasted second. Don’t want to give anything away but everyone should see this film multiple times. 

  Now I will go watch a basketball game with friends and pretend I haven’t been crying all afternoon.
