  Great movie.
  The message is outdated and there's a lot of government and cop propaganda but it was interesting to watch such a "controversial" film through a ~40 years later lens.

  It's beautifully shot with a lot of emotion that, if taken for a work of fiction, really does warrant actor nominations for Gene, Willem, and Frances. A bit on all three below.

  I had recently seen Unforgiven, another excellent movie, and wanted to watch a lesser known Gene Hackman…
